Adam Lopez Vows to Stop Oscar Valdez’s Comeback on Saturday

Adam ‘Blue Nose’ Lopez is looking forward to spoiling former two-division world champion Oscar Valdez’s comeback to the ring as they face each other in a rematch this Saturday night on ESPN PPV at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Valdez (30-1, 23 KOs) is using Lopez (16-4, 6 KOs) as a tune-up opponent in their scheduled 10-round fight to prepare him for a world title shot against WBO super featherweight champion Emanuel Navarrete. In his last fight, Valdez was beaten by Shakur Stevenson in a 12-round unanimous decision loss in April 2022.

Valdez previously defeated Lopez in November 2019, with controversy surrounding the fight’s decision. Lopez had knocked Valdez down in round two and was giving him a great deal of trouble throughout the contest, leading some boxing fans to argue that the fight was stopped prematurely.

While Lopez has been beaten by Isaac Dogboe and Abraham ‘Super’ Nova since the fight with Valdez, he remains confident and has been working hard with coach Eric Brown to prepare for the rematch.

Valdez is also upbeat about the fight, stating that he’s excited to make a statement after his loss to Stevenson and that he’s been working hard with trainer Eddy Reynoso on his defense, a crucial aspect of the sport.

Lopez and Valdez agreed to a rematch after their first fight, and Lopez believes that he is a different fighter now, having gained experience and improved his skills. He also wants to play spoiler for Valdez’s title shot against Navarrete, promising to mess up his game plan during the fight.

But Valdez is not worried about talk and firmly believes that he will let his fists do the talking in the ring on Saturday night.
