AHF: 2023 Hockey5s Pan American Cups: Preview

Lausanne, Switzerland: From 4-11 June 2023, the most effective Pan American hockey5s groups, in each males’s and ladies’s class, will collect in Kingston, Jamaica for the Hockey5s Pan American Cups (PAC) with three spots, in every gender, up for grabs within the inaugural FIH Hockey5s World Cup Oman 2024.

Panama, USA, Costa Rica, Guatemala, Paraguay and Trinidad & Tobago will be part of hosts Jamaica in each males’s and ladies’s tournaments, with Puerto Rico (males), Uruguay (girls) and Brazil (girls) rounding out the competing groups, with 8 sides taking part in within the males’s event and 9 groups within the girls’s.

The ladies’s competitors will get underway on the afternoon of 4 June with Paraguay taking up Costa Rica at 13:00 native time, whereas the boys’s competitors will get underway in a while the identical afternoon with Guatemala taking up Paraguay within the opening encounter.

The groups can be cut up into two swimming pools in every competitors. Within the males’s competitors Jamaica, Panama, Puerto Rico and USA will play in Pool A, whereas Costa Rica, Guatemala, Paraguay and Trinidad & Tobago are positioned in Pool B. Every staff within the pool stage will play the opposite groups within the pool as soon as. The highest 4 groups in each swimming pools will qualify for the cross-overs. The successful groups from the crossovers will qualify for the semi-finals. The dropping semi-finalists will play within the bronze medal match. The 2 finalists and the bronze medalists in every gender will qualify for the corresponding FIH Hockey5s World Cup 2024.

The inaugural version of the FIH Hockey5s World Cup 2024 can be performed in Muscat, Oman from 24-31 January 2024, with 16 groups competing in each males’s and ladies’s tournaments.

Within the males’s competitors Netherlands, Poland and Switzerland from Europe, and Egypt, Kenya and Nigeria from Africa have certified for the World Cup, alongside hosts Oman. Other than the three qualifiers from Pan America, three groups from Oceania and Asia may even qualify for the World Cup.

Within the girls’s competitors Namibia, South Africa and Zambia from Africa have certified for the World Cup, alongside hosts Oman. Other than the three qualifiers from Pan America, three groups from Europe, Oceania and Asia may even qualify for the World Cup.
