Barcelona Open ATP Tournament

Rohan Bopanna and Matthew Ebden have advanced to the doubles quarterfinals at the $2,872,435 ATP tennis tournament in Barcelona after defeating fourth seeds Nikola Mektic and Mate Pavic in a thrilling match. The Indo-Aussie duo won 7-6(4), 3-6, [10-8] and will now face Santiago Gonzalez and Edouard Roger-Vasselin in the last eight.

Meanwhile, in the €630,705 ATP event in Munich, Yuki Bhambri and Saketh Myneni made it to the doubles semifinals after their opponents Dustin Brown and Adam Palvasek retired during the match with the Indian pair leading 5-2.

However, qualifier Sumit Nagal was defeated in the last-16 stage of the €145,000 Challenger in Italy, going down 5-7, 6-7(6) to seventh seed Nicholas David Ionel.

  • Zvonimir Babic and Nino Serdarusic advanced to the doubles quarterfinals of the €73,000 Challenger in Roseto Degli Abruzzi, Italy, after Sumit Nagal and Mate Valkusz withdrew from the match.
