FIBA Basketball World Cup: Germany ends Latvia’s WC run to succeed in semifinals

Germany ended Latvia’s dream run on the Basketball World Cup on Wednesday with a nervy 81-79 win to squeeze into the semifinals and a conflict with the US.

Debutant Latvia had already overwhelmed defending champion Spain and Tokyo Olympics silver-medallist France on its strategy to the quarterfinals.
