French Open gives wild card entries to experienced players Paire and Mladenovic

On Monday, the French Tennis Federation granted wild cards to veteran French players Benoit Paire and Kristina Mladenovic for the upcoming Roland Garros Grand Slam.

Six French men and six French women were granted wild card entries for the Grand Slam event that will take place at Roland Garros from May 28th, and among them were Benoit Paire and Kristina Mladenovic.

Paire, who is 34 years old, has reached the tournament’s fourth round once, in 2019. The French Tennis Federation also invited Arthur Fils (18), Giovanni Mpetshi-Perricard (19), Arthur Cazaux (20), Hugo Gaston, and Hugo Grenier to participate in the men’s draw.

Mladenovic, who is 30 years old, has achieved her best ranking of 10th in 2017 when she reached the quarterfinals. She will be joined in the women’s draw by Clara Burel, Séléna Janicijevic, Léolia JeanJean, Diane Parry, and Jessika Ponchet.

Further wild card entries from the agreement between the French Tennis Federation and the Australian and American tennis federations will be announced at a later date. The three organizations exchange wild-card invitations for each other’s Grand Slam events.
