The Indian Premier League (IPL) match between the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) and the Rajasthan Royals (RR) saw Virat Kohli and Faf du Plessis put on an impressive display to keep their team in the hunt for a playoff spot.
Kohli scored an unbeaten 94 off 50 balls while du Plessis made 66 off 42 deliveries to help RCB chase down RR’s total of 177 with ease. This win takes RCB to the fourth spot in the IPL standings, with four wins and three losses from their seven matches.
The match was played at the Sheikh Zayed Stadium in Abu Dhabi, where RCB won the toss and elected to field first. RR lost their top-order batsmen early on but a brilliant knock from David Miller (75 off 44) helped them post a competitive score.
However, RCB’s batting strength proved too much for RR as Kohli and du Plessis displayed why they are considered two of the best T20 batsmen in the world. The duo put on a 141-run partnership to take their team over the line with two overs to spare.
RCB’s win has given them a much-needed boost in the points table as they fight for a spot in the playoffs. With Kohli and du Plessis in excellent form, they will look to continue their winning momentum in the upcoming matches.
