Jayson Tatum emphasizes the importance of team connectivity after Celtics lose to Heat

Boston Celtics player Jayson Tatum expressed concern over the team’s lack of connectivity following their 128-102 loss to the Miami Heat during Game 3 last night.

The interviewer asked:

“Joe [Mazzulla] said he thought that some of your defensive identity has been lost. Where have you seen the slippage in that, and why haven’t you guys been able to rely on the defense that really carried you to the Finals last season?”

Tatum answered:

“Yeah, I think we just need to be more connected. Five players, all on the same page, playing at the same level, communicating and being there for each other. Not every possession is going to be perfect. Errors happen, and you’ll get beaten, but we just need to be there for each other, have each other’s back and be a little more connected on defense.
