Jeremiah Nakathila to fight Raymond Muratalla in his long-awaited return

Jeremiah Nakathila is set to return to the boxing ring after 14 months with a fight against Raymond Muratalla on the undercard of Devin Haney-Vasiliy Lomachenko fight at MGM Grand in Las Vegas on Saturday. Nakathila was unable to fight during the 14-month period despite winning the sixth round against former junior lightweight titlist Miguel Berchelt and calling out several 135-pound fighters. Top Rank, however, has continued to keep Nakathila in mind for opportunities and lined up Muratalla for him.

Muratalla boasts an undefeated record of 17-0 with 14 KOs, and while Nakathila was aiming for a fight with a bigger name in the division, he had some strong words to say about those fighters who refused to compete with him. He’s more than ready to face his next challenge in Muratalla even though he was hoping for a world-title shot.

Through this undercard fight, Nakathila aims to showcase his boxing skills to the world in hopes of getting an opportunity to fight the winner of the main bout of the May 20 in a bid to compete for a world title. Muratalla sees the fight as a huge opportunity for him to appear on a big event and says he is ready to face the challenge.

The winner of this fight will be better known and could propel their career to the next level. The fight is expected to be an even match up and could result in a finish before going the distance.

The fight between Haney and Lomachenko along with its undercard will be available on ESPN+ PPV at 7 p.m. PT or 10 p.m. ET. Those interested in watching the PPV can purchase it for $59.99.
