Julia Grabher advances to the round of 16 in WTA Rabat

Julia Grabher, Austria’s top-ranked tennis player, has made it to the round of 16 in the Rabat clay-court event after defeating Ysaline Bonaventure of Belgium in three sets.

The match lasted 2 hours and 24 minutes and ended with a score of 6:7 (3), 6:4, 6:2. Grabher will now face Turkey’s Cagla Buyukakcay in the next round, who eliminated the seventh-seeded Czech Linda Fruhvirtova 7:5, 6:4.

Throughout the match, Grabher managed to take advantage of the opportunities presented to her, outplaying her 28-year-old adversary.

After losing the first set, the Dornbirn native improved her return game significantly. The upcoming match against Buyukakcay will be a challenging one, as the latter has not advanced to the second round of a WTA Tour event in six years.
