Real Madrid files a complaint over racist abuse towards Brazilian player Vinicius

Real Madrid has registered a complaint with Spanish prosecutors over the racist remarks aimed at Vinicius Jr, the Brazilian player, during the match at the Mestalla stadium in Valencia on Sunday.

In a statement released on Monday, the club denounced the incident and called it a “hate crime.” Their complaint has been filed with the State Attorney General’s Office.

The Movement Against Intolerance (MCI) and the Association of Spanish Soccer Players (AFE) also jointly filed a lawsuit with the same prosecutor’s office, citing racial slurs targeting the Black player.
