Shubman Gill made history on Monday by not only scoring his first Indian Premier League (IPL) century but also becoming the first player to score a century in every international format of the game and the IPL in a single calendar year.

The 22-year-old from Chandigarh had earlier scored his first Test century in Ahmedabad against Australia in the fourth Test match during the Border-Gavaskar Trophy earlier this year, scoring 128 runs in the innings.

In this year’s IPL, Gill has scored 576 runs in 13 matches at an average of 48.00 and a strike rate of 146.19, including four fifty-plus scores and one century, placing him second on the list of top scorers behind Royal Challengers Bangalore captain Faf du Plessis.
