Poland’s Iga Swiatek returns a ball to Tunisia’s Ons Jabeur during the WTA women’s singles semifinal match at Porsche Arena, Stuttgart, Germany.
Once again, last year’s champion, Iga Swiatek, and Aryna Sabalenka will face off in the final of the Porsche Grand Prix, as they emerged victorious in their respective semifinals on Saturday.
Swiatek’s path to the final was made more comfortable as Ons Jabeur withdrew due to a left calf injury, when Swiatek was leading 3-0.
Sabalenka, on the other hand, made her way smoothly to the final, reaching it for the third consecutive year with a 6-1, 6-2 win over Anastasia Potapova.
Having lost to Ash Barty in 2021’s decisive match, then to Swiatek 6-2, 6-2 last year, Sabalenka will be eager to claim the title this time around. However, Swiatek has won four of their six encounters in total.
