Tennis News: India misses quarterfinals chance in Asia-Oceania Junior Billie Jean King Cup under-16 girls tennis tournament

India dominated Mongolia and only lost three games in the last league match; however, it was not enough to qualify for the quarterfinals in the Asia-Oceania Junior Billie Jean King Cup under-16 girls tennis tournament held in Shymkent, Kazakhstan, on Wednesday.

India will now play Vietnam on Thursday in the match for the minor placings after losing to both Chinese Taipei and Thailand earlier in the tournament.

Chinese Taipei topped the group after defeating Thailand in the last league match.

The quarterfinals will feature Kazakhstan, Australia, Hong Kong, Uzbekistan, Korea and Japan with two teams qualifying from each of the other three groups.

League Results:

India beat Mongolia 3-0 (Sejal Bhutada beat Oyungerel Khasbaatar 6-0, 6-0; Asmi Adkar beat Ninjin Sanchir 6-0, 6-0; Asmi & Aakruti Sonkusare beat Namuunkhuslen Erdembileg & Ninjin 6-0, 6-3).
