I know that some people might have already thought about starting a gaming channel and if you are one of those people, then I would like to assure you that this is a great idea. The most subscribed YouTuber at the time of this writing is PewDiePie, who has played a lot of different games on his channel. He has recently decreased the number of gaming videos and started focusing more on comedy, but it can’t be denied that he got popular because of his gaming videos. Obviously, your personality will play a major role in your success.
There are many other YouTubers who are earning some serious cash by simply playing games and commenting on them. It takes time to build up your gaming channel, but I have observed that gaming channels grow faster when compared to channels in most genres. The reason for that might be the fact that people like watching games, and they keep coming back for more.
It can be argued that the market is saturated, and it can be really hard to make it big. I cannot deny that the market is competitive, but I do not think that it will ever be oversaturated with people who have great personalities and gaming skills.
2. Internet Marketing Channel
Starting a channel about internet marketing is a good idea because many people are interested in learning about internet marketing. Your internet marketing channel will not receive a lot of traffic when compared to other channels, but here the quality of traffic matters.
You can use your channel to direct people to your course that will teach them about internet marketing in detail. It will take a lot of work and new ideas to build your channel, but you can earn a lot more than you can earn from ads by directing traffic to your own digital product or digital products that you recommend.
You can build a simple sales page, which will explain what your product is about and direct traffic to it through your channel. As the quality and quantity of content on your channel grows, your sales will also grow as a result.
3. Prank Channel
People like watching prank videos and a single video can be the difference between being famous and remaining unknown. If you have a few ideas for pranks that can make people laugh, then you can start a channel on YouTube. It does not take many resources to start a channel about playing pranks, and you can do fine with a good video recorder and a laptop.
You have to look for ideas that stand apart, but are still funny, if you want to make it big because there is a lot of competition. I recommend checking out some channels of famous pranksters on YouTube for inspiration.
4. Education Channel
You can educate people about anything that you have knowledge about whether it is quantum mechanics or modern economics. Although, if you have deep knowledge about a subject, I think it would be much better to publish a video course on sites like Skillshare. If you have the expertise, then you can make more money than you would make on YouTube.
If you are just someone who wants to share his knowledge about something, then YouTube is a good option. The advantage of this video-sharing site is that it has a much wider reach than sites about teaching stuff. You can also ask people to donate money to you so that you can keep educating them for free.
5. Comedy Channel
There are so many comedy channels on our favorite video-sharing platform that it is hard to keep count. Still, it would not be a bad idea to make your own comedy channel if you think you can provide much-needed laughter to the masses.
You can try to do comedy in your national language if it is something other than English. If you do comedy in your national language, then you would have to compete in a much smaller market for domination. Obviously, your country must be fairly large and many people in your country should have access to the internet to make this worthwhile.
6. Product/Service Review Channel
This channel will be ideal for those who have money to buy products and services for review. You will never run out of ideas for your videos if you choose products or services in the right category. Monetizing your channel with the affiliate link in the description of the products or services that you recommend can increase your earnings many times.
I am sure that you will struggle a bit at first because you will have to spend money and be patient, but if you do it right, this can be very lucrative. You can review some low-quality products in a particular category and then follow up by reviewing a high-quality product with your affiliate link to make money.
Make sure that you disclose the fact that you are an affiliate of a product to your viewers and include a call to action at the end of your videos. A call to action simply means telling the viewers what to do next. You can simply tell them to check out the product that you have recommended. You can do the same with services.
7. Health or Fitness Channel
Health and fitness are very closely related, but I recommend that you focus on just one of them. You can either make a channel about tips for staying healthy and focusing on specific diseases or make a channel about fitness. They are really broad topics, and you can easily find a lot of ideas for your videos by covering just one.
8. Traveling Channel
If you visit exotic locations and love exploring places, it would be a great idea to grab a camera and record. Maybe one day you will grow your channel enough to travel to great places with the money that you earn from your channel. There is no doubt that there are many viewers that are interested in famous places and want to know about those places.
They are interested in knowing things about the culture, food, facilities, etc. You will answer these questions through your channel and help them determine whether this place is worth visiting or not. I think it would be a good idea to have a healthy mix of your personal experience along with the view of the location that you visit. You can show off your room, the market, talk to locals, and do much more with your channel.
9. Cooking Channel
This list would be incomplete without mentioning cooking because a significant part of the population is interested in learning about cooking different dishes that tingle their taste buds.
You have to do something different and focus on what you specialize in to make your channel successful. I think it would be unjust to say that you can make a lot of cash by shooting cooking videos about normal dishes. Nevertheless, it is certainly possible to make a cooking channel that can bring you some extra cash or even a full-time income.
10. Cover Songs Channel
If you are a good singer, then YouTube can help you with getting famous. You have to be extraordinary to make it big because there are many channels with good singers out there that aren’t getting much recognition.
You can start by picking your favorite songs and singing them in your own way. The best part about a cover song is that there is no right or wrong way to sing a cover. You can completely change the style of singing to grab the attention of the viewer. I highly recommend experimenting with different songs and genres to find out what works for you.
