Tyson Fury: Big Fights on the Horizon

Tyson Fury, the current WBC heavyweight champion, is actively considering the possibility of having a world title defense fight in Australia while visiting the country to support his friend Joseph Parker, the former WBO champion, who will face Faiga Opelu on Wednesday. Fury stated that he will be exploring different stadiums across the country in the coming days and is 100% serious about his plans.

The 34-year-old Fury has been out of action since his Trilogy fight with Derek Chisora last December. While he planned to fight Oleksandr Usyk in an undisputed fight in April, the two sides failed to agree on financial terms for the rematch. Fury had hoped to fight at Wembley Stadium in July but both potential opponents fell through. Ruiz demanded a high purse while Joe Joyce used his immediate rematch option to avenge his knockout loss to Zhang Zhilei.

Despite the setbacks, Fury stated his intentions to fight big matches in the future, including the much-discussed fight against Usyk, which has been in talks for over a year.

Fury also discussed the possibility of fighting Zhang, but Joyce’s rematch option meant that he won’t be a contender in the near future.
