WWE NXT Viewership Drops as Women’s Tournament Takes Center Stage

The latest episode of WWE’s developmental brand, NXT, featured packed action and a few notable segments. However, viewership for the show has taken a dip in recent weeks.

According to Showbuzz Daily, the May 16th episode of WWE NXT brought in an overnight average of 564,000 viewers, with a rating of .14 in the 18 to 49 demographic. Comparatively, the May 9th episode brought in 568,000 viewers and a .17 rating, while the May 2nd episode drew an overnight viewership of 569,000 viewers with a .14 rating.

The Wyatt Family-themed Spring Breakin’ event on April 25th drew in 647,000 viewers, with a .18 rating in the 18 to 49 demographic. The April 18th episode of NXT brought in an average of 565,000 viewers, with a rating of .14 in the same demographic.

On April 11th, NXT pulled an overnight viewership of 528,000 people, along with a .13 rating in the coveted 18 to 49 demographic. The April 4th episode brought in an average of 555,000 viewers with a .13 rating, while the March 28th episode drew 620,000 viewers with a .16 rating.

The March 21st episode of NXT had an average of 550,000 viewers and a .12 rating, marking the lowest viewership since December 6, 2017 and lowest rating since February 7th. However, the March 14th episode of NXT scored a viewership of 590,000 viewers with a .15 rating, while the NXT Roadblock special on March 7th saw overnight viewership of 624,000 and a .17 rating in the 18 to 49 demographic.

The February 28th episode of WWE NXT had an average of 555,000 viewers with a .13 rating, and the February 21st episode brought in 589,000 viewers with a .14 rating. Meanwhile, the February 14th episode saw a viewership of 640,000 people, with a .15 rating.

Despite the decline in viewership, WWE decided to spotlight their women’s title tournament on the May 16th episode of NXT. The tournament features a group of wrestlers competing to become the number one contender for the NXT Women’s Championship. It could be a major factor in improving the ratings moving forward.
