After 66 NCAA Match video games stretched during the last three weeks, the school basketball season could have one closing recreation to determine a champion. No. 1 total seed and reigning nationwide champion UConn will face No. 1 seed Purdue on Monday in Glendale, Arizona for the nationwide title.
Purdue is in search of its first nationwide championship in program historical past. UConn is seeking to grow to be the primary group to win back-to-back championships in males’s basketball since Florida did it in 2006 and 2007. The Huskies may tie North Carolina for the third-most championships all-time behind UCLA and Kentucky with a win.
The Boilermakers defeated NC State 63-50 within the first nationwide semifinal on Saturday to advance to their first championship recreation since 1969. The Huskies returned to the title recreation with an 86-72 win.
It will mark the tenth nationwide championship matchup between No. 1 seeds for the title. The final matchup got here in 2021 when Baylor defeated No. 1 total seed Gonzaga to safe its first championship in program historical past.
