AJ Styles Shares Thoughts on Retirement from Pro Wrestling

AJ Styles is widely regarded by fans and fellow wrestlers as one of the best in the business. Despite his age, he consistently performs at a high level and shows no signs of slowing down. However, AJ recently suffered an ankle injury during a WWE live event, which forced him to take time off from in-ring action.

Reflecting on his injury and time away from wrestling, AJ revealed to Sportsmail that he didn’t go as stir-crazy as he thought he would. Although not being able to do what he wanted due to his injury drove him nuts, he enjoyed spending time with his family and gained perspective on retirement. AJ also stated that he will be okay once he retires for good.

“I will tell you this. I thought I might go stir-crazy being stuck at home and not being able do to what I wanted to do, which I did a little bit. I wanna go when I wanna go and do what I wanna do and when you’ve got a boot and crutches it just hinders that and it will drive you nuts. That’s what drove me crazy, not being unable to be in a wrestling ring as I thought it would. I enjoyed the time, I enjoyed seeing my kids and my wife as it’s the first time I’ve been out this long in my career. So it kind of put things in perspective, like when retirement does come, I’m going to be ok.”

AJ has been wrestling for 25 years and has competed in several promotions, including WCW, TNA, NJPW, and WWE. Throughout his career, he has won an impressive 47 titles. Despite this, AJ has an opponent in mind for his final match who he hopes to defeat at the upcoming Night of Champions on May 27th to become the first-ever WWE World Heavyweight Champion. Fans are eager to see him hold a major title at least one more time before he retires.
