Final Round of MRF MMSC FMSCI Indian National Car Racing Championship to Take Place This Friday

The fourth and final round of the MRF MMSC FMSCI Indian National Car Racing Championship 2022 will kick off this Friday at the Madras International Circuit.

The championship will feature two main categories, namely the MRF F2000 and the Touring Cars, which consist of three classes. Each category will have three and two races, respectively, while four races will run in the Volkswagen Polo Cup, Formula LGB 1300 and the MRF Saloons (Toyota Etios) category.

This year’s championship is an exciting one, with various categories still up for grabs as the final round approaches. The front-runners are separated by only a few points in each of the categories, making for a thrilling finish to the 2022-2023 season that was affected by the monsoon rains.

The MRF F2000 has become the highlight of the championship, as five drivers have the chance to win—the winner is dependent on the results. Sai Sanjay (153), Mohamed Ryan (125), Dillon Thomas Zacharaiah (117), Divy Nandan (113), and Chirag Ghorpade (112) are the top five drivers with a maximum of 75 points on offer.

The Indian Touring Cars category will see 10-time National champion Arjun Balu (Race Concepts, 93 points) and former title winner Arjun Narendran (Arka Motorsports, 86) pitted against each other. The provisional standings reveal that Akkineni Anand Prasad (92) and Raja Rajan (78) from Chennai lead the pack in the Indian Junior Touring Cars.

Ritesh Rai (111) from Performance Racing has a comfortable lead of 31 points over S. Narendran (Redline Racing) in the Super Stock class. Meanwhile, Raghul Rangasamy (MSport) from Mamallapuram and Nellore’s Viswas Vijayaraj are separated by 15 points in the provisional points table in the Formula LGB 1300.
