Jose Mourinho meets Tennis Legends at the Italian Open

Jose Mourinho had a fan moment after meeting Martina Navratilova at the Italian Open. The Roma manager attended the men’s singles final and watched Daniil Medvedev defeat Holger Rune, but he was more starstruck after learning that Navratilova knew who he was, while also catching up with Boris Becker.

Mourinho is a huge Tennis fan and has attended tennis tournaments regularly, especially the ATP finals, when it was held at the O2 Arena during his tenure as the Chelsea boss. After his presence at the Italian Open, Navratilova made an impression on the Portuguese coach.

The proud moment for Mourinho came when Navratilova said to him “If I was a football player I would love to be your player.” Mourinho couldn’t believe that the 18-time Grand Slam winner knew him. The former Chelsea boss thanked Martina, saying “Enjoy your life Boris and Martina, we tennis fans will always love you.”

Besides Navratilova, Becker was also in attendance, making one of his first public appearances since being released from prison in December.

Novak Djokovic also appreciated Mourinho’s presence at the tournament. Djokovic once revealed that Mourinho regularly attended his matches in London, especially the World Tour finals, as it coincided with the former Chelsea manager’s tenure in London.
