Kidambi Srikanth Makes it to the Quarters after Defeating Sai Praneeth

Indian badminton player Kidambi Srikanth secured a spot in the men’s singles quarterfinals of the Madrid Master tournament by defeating fellow Indian shuttler B Sai Praneeth in straight games.

With a seed of fifth and a world ranking of 21, Srikanth won 21-15 21-12 against his 49th ranked compatriot in a second-round match.

As Srikanth heads to the quarterfinals, he will face a challenging match against top seed Kenta Nishimoto from Japan.

Nishimoto received a walkover in his second-round match against France’s Arnaud Merkle.

Other Indian shuttlers, such as Kiran George, Priyanshu Rajawat, and Sameer Verma, continue to compete in the tournament.
