Kostas Sloukas on Olympiacos’ win: “We are waiting for the Finals”

Kostas Sloukas, the guard for Olympiacos, briefly spoke about their win against Monaco in the semi-finals of EuroLeague’s Final 4, with a score of 76-62. He said, “I don’t care how it looks from the outside, I don’t care if we didn’t play as expected, the main thing is the final score. We won the game, now it is time to celebrate and wait for the Finals. Wait for the next 40 minutes where we need to be focused and prepared in order to fulfill our goal.”

In the first half, Olympiacos struggled and made a lot of mistakes, with many turnovers that put Monaco in the lead. However, an amazing third quarter (27-2 for Olympiacos)proved that they were not to be underestimated.

Jordan Lloyd from Monaco believes that his team needs to learn from their mistakes and come back stronger. He said, “We started the match very well, didn’t allow opponent to score easy points and used that they heads weren’t in it. Olympiacos made a lot of turnovers, so we used that and finished the first half leading. Oh, but the second half, especially the third quarter was a completely different story. They destroyed us, allowing us only 2 points. We couldn’t return in the game.”

He also added, “We need to learn from our mistakes, to come back stronger as a team and not to allow the opponent what we allowed Olympiacos. We will watch this game, see our mistakes, and hopefully return much better on Sunday.” Lloyd’s Monaco will face the team that loses in the second semi-final, whether Barcelona or Real.
