Man Utd and Chelsea could benefit from potential Napoli exodus

Luciano Spalletti recently led Napoli to their first Serie A title since 1990, but rumours of a falling-out with President Aurelio de Laurentiis have left the 64-year-old’s future with the club in doubt. Spalletti hinted that his exit from Napoli is already sealed, paving the way for Manchester United and Chelsea to make their moves in the upcoming summer transfer window. Both clubs have been keeping tabs on several Napoli players, including Kim Min-jae and Victor Osimhen.

United, in particular, has set its sights on Kim to beef up its defence. The club is reportedly eager to activate the South Korean international’s £52 million release clause. Meanwhile, Chelsea is also keen on bringing Osimhen to the Premier League when the season ends. If Spalletti leaves Napoli, Kim and Osimhen might decide to follow suit, giving the Premier League giants an opportunity to sign them.

De Laurentiis appeared to confirm Spalletti’s imminent departure before Napoli’s win over Inter Milan, implying that the latter is free to accept a new challenge away from the club between now and the start of next season. The situation at Napoli, however, remains uncertain, and it remains to be seen how it will play out in the coming weeks.
