Pramod Bhagat and Sukant Kadam Triumph in Men’s Doubles at Brazil Para-Badminton International

Indian para-badminton players, Pramod Bhagat and Sukant Kadam, emerged victorious in the men’s doubles event at the Brazil Para-Badminton International 2023.

The duo fought hard and defeated Korean opponents, Joo Dongjae and Shin Kyung Hwan, in a nail-biting contest in the men’s doubles SL 3-SL 4 category. Pramod and Sukant’s performance was laudable, and they secured the gold medal.

Pramod, however, failed to replicate his success in the singles category. He had to be content with the silver medal after losing to fellow Indian, Kuma Nitesh, in the SL3 category finals. The score was 12-21 and 13-21. Sukant secured the bronze in his singles SL4 category.

Pramod Bhagat stated, “I am satisfied with my performance, but there’s still room for improvement. I couldn’t perform well in singles, and I would like to applaud Nitesh for his exceptional play.”

Sukant commented, “I am delighted with my performance in doubles category, but I will put in more effort to improve my singles game. In this tournament, I identified my mistakes and will work hard to rectify them.”

Shiba Prasad Das, the coach of Pramod and Sukant, stated, “Both the players have done well, but there is still considerable room for improvement. I have conveyed to them the mistakes they have made, and we will start working on them right after returning to India and prepare for the next tournament.”
