This sprawling home of two-time Olympic Gold Medallist hockey participant KD Singh Babu, will quickly be a vacationer attraction.

The Uttar Pradesh authorities plans to transform the ancestral mansion in Barabanki, close to Lucknow, right into a museum.

Who’s KD Singh?

Kunwar Digvijay Singh, fondly referred to as KD Singh ‘Babu’, was the vice-captain of the Indian Hockey staff that clinched Impartial India’s first Olympic gold medal within the 1948 London Olympics

The feat was repeated within the 1952 Helsinki Olympics when Singh was the captain of the staff

In 1953, Singh was awarded the Helms Trophy by the American Helms Basis and named Asia’s Athlete of the 12 months

He was conferred with the Padma Shri in 1958.

After retiring in 1959, Singh coached many kids to realize their hockey goals.
