Who Can Stop Manchester City From Winning the Premier League Next Season?

Manchester City has won their fourth Premier League title in five years, leaving teams like Liverpool, Manchester United, Arsenal, and Newcastle wondering if anybody can stop them next season.

Arsenal led for a significant part of the season, but in February, Manchester City went on a winning streak that ultimately helped them clinch the title. The team has a history of going on long unbeaten runs, which gives their rivals reasons to worry about their dominance in the upcoming season.

The question remains, can any team put a stop to their dominance next season? Or is it going to be another Manchester City title parade?

The Express Sport writers predicted who could potentially challenge Manchester City next season:

Archie Griggs – Nobody

Archie Griggs believes that no other team can displace Manchester City since they are too strong and dominant. Arsenal may have tried this season, but they lacked the experience and quality needed to disrupt Manchester City at the top of the table. Manchester United, Liverpool, and Chelsea will need a minimum of two years to regroup to pose any challenge to Manchester City’s dominance.

Joe Krishnan: Arsenal

Joe Krishnan believes that Arsenal can challenge Manchester City next season by signing Declan Rice and another center-back to strengthen their squad. He believes their performance this season was superb and only fell short in the title race due to Manchester City’s unstoppable run.

Stuart Ballard: Nobody

Stuart Ballard believes that Manchester City is light-years ahead of their rivals, and none of the other teams can catch Manchester City next season. Even a transfer window where Arsenal, Manchester United, and Liverpool strengthen their squad cannot help them catch up to Manchester City’s level. Stuart believes that Manchester City will only get better next season, and teams should fear them.

Jack Otway: Maybe Man Utd and Arsenal but it’s a stretch

Jack Otway thinks that Manchester City is too formidable and too hungry for more trophies, and none of their rivals can catch them anytime soon. However, if any team can, it’s Arsenal or Manchester United, but it’s a big stretch. Arsenal may still be wounded from their failed title charge, and there was always a sense this season was now or never under Mikel Arteta. Manchester United may spend big, but that has not helped them close the gap in the past.

Lewis Winter: Nobody

Lewis Winter believes that Manchester City remains unbeatable as no team can catch them next season. Arsenal gave it their best shot this season, but they fell short. He thinks Liverpool needs a strong summer window to challenge again. However, signing Harry Kane can take Manchester United closer to the top spot. Yet, if Manchester City reaches their best version, no one can stop them.

Jonathan Spencer: Nobody

Jonathan Spencer fears that it will be a race to be second best for Arsenal, Liverpool, and Manchester United next season. He believes that Manchester City’s star-studded team, with players such as Erling Haaland, Riyad Mahrez, Phil Foden, Julian Alvarez, and Kevin De Bruyne, is too formidable. The rival teams may compete for the second spot, but they do not pose a real challenge to Manchester City’s dominance unless they become complacent.
