World Superbike: Bautista completes one other treble at Misano

After his win within the first race on Saturday, Bautista took his thirteenth and 14th victories of the season out of a potential 15 within the Superpole race and the second full-distance race of the weekend.

It means the Spanish rider now has a mammoth 86 level lead within the standings approaching the midway level of the marketing campaign forward of Yamaha rider Toprak Razgatlioglu.

It was Razgatlioglu who proved Bautista’s largest risk on Sunday, ending second in each races, and solely narrowly shedding out on victory within the Superpole race that was minimize brief by a pink flag following a crash involving Honda’s Iker Lecuona and Barni Ducati’s Danilo Petrucci.

Razgatlioglu was locked in battle for second within the last race of the weekend with Bautista’s works Ducati team-mate Michael Ruben Rinaldi, with the pair making contact and placing Rinaldi within the gravel and out of the race.

That opened the door for Motocorsa Ducati rider Axel Bassani to finish the rostrum in third, adopted by Kawasaki’s Jonathan Rea and Xavi Vierge, representing Honda alone as Lecuona was sidelined following his earlier crash.

Petrucci was match to trip within the last race and completed seventh behind Yamaha man Andrea Locatelli.
