Misolic, an Austrian player, found himself in a seemingly hopeless situation against France’s Enzo Couacaud, trailing 3-6, 0-5 in the first round of the French Open qualifiers. But the Graz-based tennis player managed to turn the game around and emerged as the winner with a score of 3-6, 7-6 (7), 6-2. Misolic, seeded at position 20, fought hard to bring the game back to level terms, and even saved a match point in the second set tiebreak.

The third set was closely contested, with both players putting up a great fight. However, Misolic broke Couacaud’s serve by winning two break points at a crucial juncture in the game when the score was tied at 2-2. This broke the resistance of the Frenchman, and after a hard-fought battle that lasted two hours and 36 minutes, Misolic emerged victorious.

Next up, Misolic will face Andrea Vavassori in the second round of the qualifiers. Also on Monday, Austrian players Jurij Rodionov and Dennis Novak won their opening matches, while Maximilian Neuchrist lost despite winning the first set.
