[Review] Lining Halbertec 8000 4U

The Lining Halbertec 8000 4U is currently one of the most expensive rackets on the market. It features a beautiful design and paintwork which is expected of Lining. At the top-tier level of rackets, the Halbertec 8000 4U AYPT015-1s is well-balanced and a control-type racket that excels in trajectory control and shuttle control, but not in power.

The weight distribution of the racket feels good and is slightly head-heavy, but the frame weight distribution is mostly around the 3 and 9 o’clock region. The shaft is medium-stiff and generates good repulsion from the frame when driving. The Halbertec 8000 can react fast enough to any fast drive and the player can get behind the shuttle easily. Although the racket’s drives are not as good as the 100X or Hypersonic, the player doesn’t lose out by much.

The clear shots require effortless power, and the racket’s shaft helps generate the required power. The player can easily adjust power output for accurate and controlled shuttle placement. Off-centered or overhead clears are easy to execute. For drop shots, slice and reverse slice, this racket is by far the best and the shuttle trajectory is super easy to control. The player can execute drop shots more comfortably with Halbertec 8000 compared to any other racket tried so far.

The racket is also good for net shots as it is super solid and stable, allowing for easy control and cross net. The player is also less likely to overshoot the shuttle. However, the racket is not suited for players who rely on smashing power. The front-mid court smash is good but the rear-court smash is not. Given that this racket is made for control players, smash kills are rare. The initial shuttle speed is good, but the speed drops significantly upon reaching the opponent.

The Lining Halbertec 8000 4U is best suited for all-round players who do not rely on smashing power but value control over other shots. However, given the performance of the racket, the price may seem too high. It is recommended to opt for Arc 11 pro, Arc 7 pro or Hypersonic, rather than this racket.
