IPL 2023 | Ravi Shastri backs Rohit Sharma ahead of MI’s must-win match against SRH

Former Indian cricketer Ravi Shastri has expressed confidence in Mumbai Indians’ (MI) skipper Rohit Sharma’s ability to bounce back from his current run of poor form in the team’s must-win match against Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH). Speaking on Star Sports Studio, Shastri stated that Rohit is an exceptional player who does not require additional motivation to perform well. Shastri added that once the runs begin to flow, it will be difficult to stop the talented player.

In the 13 matches played so far in IPL 2023, Rohit has only scored 257 runs with an average of 19.77 and a single half-century.

The last day of the league stage in IPL 2023 will reveal the fourth team that will make it to the playoffs. The winners of the match between Mumbai and Sunrisers will qualify for the playoffs and take on Lucknow Super Giants in the Eliminator.

Former India cricketer Harbhajan Singh believes that if Mumbai Indians make it to the playoffs, they will be unstoppable and will go on to win their sixth IPL championship. Speaking on Star Sports’ Cricket Live, Harbhajan Singh expressed his desire for a grand finale between MI and Chennai Super Kings (CSK).

In the second game of Super Sunday, Royal Challengers Bangalore will host holders Gujarat Titans in their last game of the round-robin phase. With 14 points on the table, RCB are tied with MI, but have a better net run rate.

Former Indian cricketer Mohammed Kaif opined that RCB would be in an advantageous position, as they would know what they need to do to qualify for the playoffs after the afternoon match between Mumbai Indians and Sunrisers Hyderabad. Speaking on Star Sports’ Cricket Live, he expressed his optimism about the team’s chances, given the form displayed by Faf du Plessis and Virat Kohli in their previous win.
