Kyle Dubas Issues Statement on Departure from Toronto Maple Leafs

Kyle Dubas, the former general manager of the Toronto Maple Leafs, has released his first statement following his departure from the team. Dubas had been quiet since being let go, but has now shed some light on the situation.

Recently, Dubas and his family took to Twitter to thank all members of the Toronto Maple Leafs organization in a public statement. Here is a recap of the entire statement:

“Although I appreciate the interest in the circumstances of my departure, I will not discuss the details of what I believe were reasonable and confidential discussions. During the period when I needed to reassess and evaluate my own vision of the future, as well as ensure that I had the full support of my family for what I knew would be necessary in the coming offseason and future years, the organization decided, as they are entitled to do, to go in another direction.”

“During the past nine seasons, since being given the chance to work in the NHL for the Toronto Maple Leafs, we have had the privilege of learning a lot and growing significantly through the good times and the bad. Our family doubled in size and we formed meaningful relationships that will last a lifetime. It was an honor to work in such an inspiring environment with dedicated, loyal people and an extremely passionate fan base. The impact of that and the relationships with all of the people at MLSE, from the board of directors through to the ushers at Scotiabank Arena, will forever hold a dear place in our hearts.”

“To the players, coaches, and staff at the facility, past and present, thank you for your passion and commitment at every step of the journey together. It was an enormous pleasure to work with you each day. We will move forward from here.”
