PSG v Barcelona, Champions League quarterfinals: Safety strengthened in Paris after IS ‘risk’, confirms French minister

Safety can be “significantly strengthened” at Wednesday’s Champions League match within the French capital between Paris Saint-Germain and Barcelona after a “risk” from Islamic State, the inside minister mentioned.

Gerald Darmanin mentioned the jihadist group had threatened all of the quarterfinal matches on Tuesday and Wednesday, not simply PSG’s first leg conflict with Barcelona on the Parc des Princes.

“The police, with whom I spoke very early this morning, have significantly strengthened the safety measures,” Darmanin advised reporters.

A supply near the problem advised AFP: “IS has threatened the Champions League quarterfinals, not particularly in France, via one among its communication shops.”
