Tennis Player Accuses Opponent of Unfair Play and Umpire Intervenes

Tensions rose during the Lyon Open match between Marton Fucsovics and Sebastian Baez as Fucsovics accused Baez of “screaming like a b***h” and acting “like a 12-year old.” Fucsovics felt that younger players like Baez were not playing fair.

The chair umpire had to intervene as Fucsovics started to swear and went on a rant. The 31-year-old Hungarian player lost the match after the set went into a tiebreak, and both players exchanged words again at the net.

Fucsovics also claimed that British player Cameron Norrie did the same thing in Rome when he played against him. This incident happened after Novak Djokovic raised issues with Norrie during their Italian Open match.

According to Djokovic, Norrie did things that were allowed, including taking a medical timeout, hitting another player, and saying “C’mon” in the face of his opponent during almost every single point. Djokovic felt that these behaviors were not fair play and not how players should treat each other, but they were allowed.
